Choose the tester
Keep Video VAST / VPAID selected, or choose Display / HTML for a display tag.
Follow these quick paths to inspect an ad tag or validate a creative file before it is trafficked.
Video VAST / VPAID is selected when the tester opens. Choose Display / HTML when you are testing a banner, JavaScript, iframe, or other display tag.
Keep Video VAST / VPAID selected, or choose Display / HTML for a display tag.
Copy the complete HTML, JavaScript, VAST XML, or HTTPS VAST URL.
Paste the full tag into the code field without removing macros or trackers.
Choose Run video tag or Run display tag, then review the preview, status, and detected components.
TagCheck reports only what can be supported by the submitted tag, a resolved VAST response, or an enabled live preview. Use the evidence labels to separate confirmed findings from items that still need professional review.
The component or signal is visible in the submitted tag or resolved response.
A possible issue needs professional confirmation; it is not automatically a trafficking failure.
The signal was not visible in the submitted code. It may still be configured or added when the ad is served.
Final delivery, targeting, click resolution, and measurement behavior require the real serving environment.
If IAS evidence or a landing-page URL is not visible in the pasted tag, TagCheck does not treat that as proof that it is absent from the campaign. CM360 can apply verification and resolve a campaign-level click-through only when the creative is served.
Display previews keep the complete creative visible and centered according to its detected dimensions, including portrait formats such as 160 × 600. When no literal landing-page URL is exposed, clicking the rendered CM360 creative can open its serve-time destination in a new tab. This may contact the ad server and record a QA click, so use only authorized test placements.
Open Actions to show technical details, copy a QA summary, or print and save a privacy-safe PDF. The PDF excludes the complete submitted tag, landing-page URLs, tracker URLs, and placement identifiers.
Use Creative Validator for PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, and HTML5 ZIP files. The file is inspected in your browser and is not uploaded or stored by TagCheck.
Select one supported image, GIF, or HTML5 ZIP package from your device.
Check the detected dimensions, file type, file size, and optional expected placement size.
Review the rendered creative. HTML5 packages run locally in a sandbox with external requests and pop-ups blocked.
Inspect asset references, click setup, HTTPS usage, third-party calls, dimensions, and package limits.
The inspected file meets that technical check. It is still not a guarantee of publisher or platform approval.
A possible issue or manual decision needs attention; it does not automatically mean the creative must be rejected.
Reload the preview if needed. Blocked network content may differ from the final creative in its live serving environment.
TagCheck provides automated technical observations about advertising tags. Results are informational and intended to support, not replace, professional Ad Operations review.
A PASS or “likely accepted” result does not guarantee that a publisher, platform, ad server, browser, device, or measurement vendor will approve or successfully run a tag. Specifications and live serving behavior may change.
You are responsible for the tags you test, your authority to access them, the accuracy of campaign settings, and the decision to traffic or distribute a tag. Confirm material requirements directly with the applicable publisher or platform.
Previews can interact with third-party systems. Their availability, content, tracking, security, and privacy practices are outside TagCheck’s control and may be governed by separate terms.
The service may be changed, interrupted, limited, or discontinued. Detection rules and compatibility guidance may be updated as advertising technology evolves.
TagCheck is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, no warranties are made about completeness, accuracy, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free operation.
By using TagCheck, you agree to use it responsibly. TagCheck and CheckYourTag.com are owned and operated by Marin Creative Solutions LLC. Questions can be sent to susana@checkyourtag.com.
VAST resolution, redirect checks, and enabled creative previews may contact third-party systems and create requests that resemble impressions, pixels, verification activity, or video events. Use test placements and non-production measurement endpoints whenever possible, and enable live execution only when authorized.
Access may be limited when activity appears unsafe, abusive, unlawful, or inconsistent with these rules. The service, supported formats, detection rules, and these terms may change or be discontinued.
